Gajananya Silk Fabrics

Our place is tucked away at number 41/4 on the 3rd Cross in Venkateshwara Layout. Suddaguntepalya is a pretty active area, and finding the right cross can sometimes be a bit of a puzzle for people who aren't from around here. We work with silk fabrics, so the shop is usually filled with different colors and textures. It’s a quiet enough street compared to the main roads, but we still have a steady stream of work. We spend hours measuring out fabric and making sure the folds are neat, though sometimes things get a bit messy when we are in the middle of a big order. It’s a small operation, really. We handle the silk carefully because it’s delicate, but the workspace itself is very practical and unpretentious. There are no big signs or fancy lights. We just have our tables and the racks where the fabric sits. Most of the people who come to us are regulars or they heard about us from someone else in the layout. We like the neighborhood feel of this spot. Every morning starts with opening up the shutters and dusting off the counters before the first person walks in. It’s just us doing what we know how to do with the fabrics we have. We don't try to be anything more than a local silk shop that stays busy through the week. The 3rd Cross is our home base and we are comfortable with how things run here.
