You can find us at 461 Zeenath Bari on Hamilton Road, right in the heart of Kashmiri Gate. This is an old part of Delhi and it feels like it every single day. The streets are always crowded with rickshaws, delivery carts, and people rushing somewhere. We have been here for generations, starting with my grandfather who set the whole thing up. The building is old and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are too busy to worry about that. When we open the heavy shutters in the morning, the dust from the street comes in, but that is just part of life here. Inside, we have stacks of goods piled up almost to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a maze, but if you ask any of us, we can find what you need in a few seconds. We aren't a big corporation with meetings and presentations. We just sit on our stools, drink tea from the vendor across the street, and talk to the people who walk through the door. Most of our customers have been coming to us for decades, and we know their families too. It’s a small operation run by family and a couple of helpers who are like family. We do our bookkeeping on a wooden desk that’s been in the same spot for forty years. It’s just how we do things in this neighborhood.
