Our office is situated at 1187/67 Sahakar Nagar, right on the ground floor of the Gruha Laxmi Building. It’s a solid old building, though the paint is peeling a little near the entrance where the rain hits it during the monsoon. Being on the ground floor is a bit of a blessing because nobody has to deal with the elevator, which tends to get stuck between floors more often than it should. We are directly opposite the Coffee Cafe Day, which is a bit of a landmark for people trying to find us. Usually, you can see people sitting out there with their laptops while we are inside sorting through papers and taking calls. S S Bhalerao & Co has been in this spot for quite a while now. The space inside is a bit cramped because we have files stacked up in corners and the desks are pushed quite close together. It gets a bit noisy when the traffic picks up on the main road outside, but you get used to the sound of horns and engines after a few weeks. We don’t have any big flashy signs or anything like that. Just a small nameplate by the door that usually needs a good cleaning. The light coming through the front windows is nice in the morning, but by the afternoon it gets pretty hot so we have to pull the blinds down halfway. It’s just a normal workplace with normal people.
