If you know Gandhi Nagar in Bangalore, you know how crowded it gets, especially near Anandrao Circle. That’s where you’ll find us at S R Konduskar Travels. Our shop is G5 in the Traveller building, right there on the ground floor at No 30. It is a small space, mostly filled with registers and the sound of people asking about bus timings. We spend a lot of time looking at schedules and trying to figure out which route is running late because of the roadwork. It’s a bit of a chaotic area with all the buses pulling in and out, but that is just how it is around here. We have a few staff members who have been here forever, so they know most of the regular passengers by name. We don't use a lot of fancy computers, just enough to keep things organized. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to do things the old way for a bit, but we manage. People stop by on their way to the station or just to grab a ticket for the weekend. It’s not a quiet job, but we like being in the middle of all that energy. The tea stall next door is where most of us head when there is a gap between the morning and evening rush. We are just a local team doing our bit to keep the wheels turning.
