S R Film Institute is located out in Herohalli, specifically at Peenya 2Nd Stage, number 43. It’s not a huge campus like the ones you see in movies or big cities. It’s more of a local place where people come to learn about cameras and editing and all the stuff that goes into making a video. We’ve been set up here for a bit now. The space is filled with gear and old posters and things we’ve worked on over the years. It’s a bit of a creative mess sometimes, but that’s just how it goes when you’re teaching film. We aren't corporate people. We are just folks who like making things. We don’t have a big admissions office or a PR team. Usually, you just talk to whoever is around at the time. The area around Peenya 2Nd Stage is pretty industrial and busy, but our spot at number 43 is where we get our work done. We try to keep things hands-on as much as possible. We don't spend all day reading from textbooks or listening to lectures. Most of the time, we’re just showing people how to use the equipment or talking about how to frame a shot. It’s a practical kind of place for people who actually want to do things. People find us because they want to learn the actual work, not just sit in a fancy classroom. We like it here in Herohalli and the community we have.
