S. P. Industries

S. P. Industries is located out in Sunkadakatte, specifically in Vigneshwar Nagar at number 5. If you know the Aerohalli Post area, we are right around there. It’s an industrial part of town, so there is always the sound of machines or trucks in the background. We spend our days working on whatever production run is scheduled for that week. It’s mostly hands-on stuff. We have a few guys who have been here since we started, and we just get on with the work. The floor gets pretty busy when a big order comes in. We make parts and components that go into other products, so accuracy matters quite a bit even if the workshop looks a bit cluttered sometimes. We keep our tools organized as best as we can. It’s not a shiny office job. There is grease, there is metal, and there is a lot of lifting. The weather in Bangalore is usually okay, but inside the shed it gets warm when the machines are running full tilt. We usually take a break around noon and sit outside for a bit of air. It’s a basic operation but we take it seriously. People send us drawings, and we try to turn those into physical parts that actually fit. It’s satisfying to see a finished batch ready for shipping at the end of the day. It’s hard work, but we like the routine of it and the noise of the floor.
