Down in Wilson Garden, specifically the Hathikana area, our place is easy to spot if you know where the 21/1 building is. We deal in ceramics, mostly floor tiles and some bathroom stuff. The showroom is simple, really just rows of samples leaning against the walls. It’s heavy work, moving these crates around all day. My back definitely feels it by the end of the week. We’ve been here quite some time now. Customers come in with their measurements, usually looking for something that won't show the dirt too much in their homes. We show them what’s in stock. Sometimes the shipments from the factory are late, which is annoying for everyone involved, but we manage. It’s a small team here, just a few of us handling the sales and the loading. We don’t go for those flashy ads you see on TV or in magazines. People mostly find us through word of mouth from their neighbors. The floor is usually covered in a bit of white dust from the tiles being moved. If you're looking for fancy designs, we have a few, but mostly it's practical stuff for kitchens and halls. It’s just a normal shop, nothing special to look at from the outside. We open early and stay until the last customer leaves. We are just trying to keep the business going in this part of the city.
