Focus Garment Tech Pte Ltd has been running out of No 36 on 2nd Cross for a long time. It’s a busy little corner of RT Nagar, right near the Dirnnur Main Road. If you’ve ever walked past the post office and headed down the cross road, you’ve probably seen us. It is not a fancy place. We’ve got sewing machine parts, industrial tools, and grease rags scattered around where they are needed most. We don’t have a shiny reception desk or anyone to greet you in a suit. Usually, it is just one of us coming out from the back with a wrench in hand. The traffic outside can be pretty loud, especially in the afternoons, but we just turn up the radio and keep working. We spend most of our days trying to figure out why an old motor won’t start or waiting on a shipment of needles that got delayed. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. We drink a lot of tea from the stall nearby and talk about how the neighborhood is changing. We just want to make sure the garment shops that rely on us can keep their own production lines moving. It is a bit dusty and the fan rattles, but it is our workspace and we like it that way. We don't have any grand goals beyond just doing the job well enough for the people who come to see us.
