Down at 11 Chikkabiadarekal, you will find Rmn Tyres. It is a bit of a way out from the middle of the city, which actually works better for us because we need the space for all the stock. Tyres take up a lot of room and they are heavy to move around all day. The shop always has that strong smell of new rubber, which we don't even notice anymore, but people who visit always mention it. We spend most of our time out in the front part of the building because that is where the vehicles pull in. It is a bit of a dusty environment, especially when the wind kicks up around Chikkabiadarekal. Our hands are usually black from the grease and the rubber by the time lunch rolls around. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights and carpets. It is just a concrete floor and stacks of tyres reaching up to the ceiling. People come to us when they have a puncture or when their treads have worn down too thin. We just take the old ones off and put the new ones on. It is basic, physical work that keeps us busy from morning until evening. Sometimes we have a lot of trucks lined up and other times it is just a quiet afternoon where we reorganize the racks.
