Over in Bangalore, at 27, 4th Cross in the Syed Block area, we run our logistics business. It’s a pretty standard building in a busy part of town. We’ve got a lot of space for our operations, though it often feels small because of all the records and equipment we have to keep. The Syed Block area has a lot going on, so there is always noise from the street coming through the windows. We handle a lot of moving parts here, mostly focusing on how to get cargo from one state to another. It involves a lot of phone calls and checking schedules on old computers. We aren't a high-tech firm with fancy gadgets; we rely more on knowing the routes and having good people on the ground. The staff here are a mix of young guys and older folks who have been in the business forever. We share a lot of stories over lunch about the things that happen on the road. It’s a messy, busy, and sometimes confusing job, but we like it that way. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall or anything. We just show up every day and make sure the trucks are moving. Sometimes things go wrong, like a flat tire or a late delivery, and we just deal with it. It’s a solid way to make a living and we’re glad to be part of the community here.
