Ramesh Eye Clinic

Ramesh Eye Clinic is tucked away on Sajjan Rao Road. If you know Basavangudi, you know this area is pretty old-school. We’ve been at No. 26 for years. The building is just a normal one, nothing special to look at from the outside. People come here when they can't see the newspaper properly or if their glasses broke. We have the usual chairs and the charts on the wall with the letters that get smaller at the bottom. It gets a bit crowded on weekends because families bring their elderly parents in. We see a lot of people from V V Puram too since it’s right next door. The street outside can get quite narrow with all the parked scooters, so finding a spot can be a bit of a headache sometimes. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us here to help the doctor and keep the files organized. Most of our day is spent cleaning lenses or helping someone pick out a frame that doesn't slide down their nose. It’s quiet work for the most part. We like being in this part of Bangalore because it still feels like the old city. You won't find any flashy lights here. Just a desk, some equipment, and a place to sit while you wait for your turn. We just focus on checking eyes and making sure people can see better when they walk out. It’s a steady job.
