Priyadarshini Filaments Private Limited is just a group of people making things at No. 16 on the 4th Main. This spot in the Industrial Town is where we spend most of our waking hours. West of Chord is a busy area, but Rajaji Nagar has its own quiet corners too. We aren't doing anything fancy here. We just work with filaments day in and day out. Sometimes the machines are loud and the floor gets a bit messy, but that’s just how a factory works. Most of the staff have been here for a long time now. We know each other's families and stories. We don't have any polished speeches or big goals about changing the world. We just want to get the orders ready for whoever needs them. The industrial town has a specific smell of grease and metal that we don’t even notice anymore. We start our shift early, usually when the sun is just coming up. It’s better to beat the rush on the main roads. We have a small corner for tea and that’s about as fancy as it gets. If you come looking for us, look for the gate that squeaks a little. It’s a practical place for practical work. We don’t use those big words you see in brochures. We just focus on the filaments and making sure the counts are right before things head out. It’s our living, and we’re okay with that.
