Our place is at 142/B in the Matrukrupa Building, which is over in the Rajajinagar area. It is a pretty straightforward building and we have been here for quite some time now. You won't find any shiny glass walls or modern art here. It is just a solid building with a lot of history. Inside, the office feels a bit like a home that turned into a workspace over the years. We have a lot of wooden shelves that are sagging under the weight of files we’ve collected. The floor is that old-fashioned tile that stays cool even when it’s boiling outside. We don't really do much to impress anyone who walks in. The focus is always on the work sitting on the desks. Usually, there is a radio playing softly in the background, mostly just for some noise while we are filing or typing. The neighborhood is fairly quiet compared to the main roads, which we appreciate. It makes it easier to concentrate. We know the neighbors in the building and sometimes we stop to chat on the way in. There is no corporate structure here, just a few of us trying to keep things moving. We drink a lot of tea and try to stay on top of the things we need to finish. It is an honest day’s work in a place that feels comfortable and familiar to all of us who work at R Gopal & Co.
