Our office is located at the 6th Cross in the 9th Block of Nagarbhavi 2nd Stage. This part of Bangalore is always seeing some kind of building work, so we’re right where the action is. The space we work out of is filled with rolls of plans and samples of construction materials like bricks and tiles. It’s often a bit disorganized because we’re always in a rush to head out to a site or meet a supplier. We spend half the day in the office and the other half out in the sun, checking on how the foundations are being poured or if the walls are going up correctly. You’ll usually find a few bags of cement or some tools lying around the entrance. The staff is just a small group of us who have been working together for a few years. We know the local regulations and the people in the neighborhood pretty well. It’s not a fancy corporate environment; we’re more likely to be wearing jeans and sturdy boots than anything else. There’s always something that needs fixing or a delivery that’s running late, so we stay pretty busy. We don’t make any big promises, we just show up and do the work that needs to be done on the plots around Nagarbhavi. It’s just plain, honest construction work. We keep moving until the sun goes down.
