Quantity Surveyor

I’m working out of the first floor at Shri Niliyam in Ajyoti Layout. It’s a small space, but it fits what we need for the survey work. This place belongs to the family, specifically under Shri Rajashekhar A.V. We handle the estimates for local building jobs. It isn't the kind of office that has a receptionist or a waiting room. You just walk up the stairs and find us at the desk. I spend a lot of time on the computer looking at floor plans. The neighborhood is mostly houses, so it’s pretty calm until the afternoon school rush. We started doing this because people were getting overcharged by contractors and needed a clear list of materials. It is just about being precise with the numbers. I have a few old rulers and calculators that I trust more than the new software sometimes. The layout is a bit tricky to find if you aren't from around here, but once you hit the second cross, it’s the house marked 58 B. I don't spend much on decor, just shelves full of old project files. We do the work, send the reports, and that’s it. There are no big speeches about what we do. We just measure stuff. It’s a practical job for practical people. Sometimes the printer jams when we have a big deadline, which is annoying. That’s life in a small office. We have been here at post R for quite some time now.
