Purchase Assistant

I’m based at number 80 in the 3rd Block of Wilson Garden here in Bangalore. My name is Krishnappa, and I work as a purchase assistant. This is basically where I handle all the day-to-day buying for the business. Wilson Garden is a nice enough area, though it gets quite congested during the day with all the traffic. I’ve lived and worked in this part of Bangalore for a long time, so I know my way around the local markets and suppliers. My office is just a simple room with a desk and a phone. I don’t have any fancy mission statements or corporate goals; I just try to find the best prices for the things we need. It’s a lot of haggling and checking invoices to make sure everything is correct. I spend a lot of time on my feet, visiting vendors or checking on deliveries. Sometimes I have to go out into the heat, but that's part of the job. I don't use a lot of fancy technology, just what I need to get the job done. People in the neighborhood know me, and I like the familiar feel of this block. It’s not a high-pressure environment, but there’s always something that needs to be ordered or followed up on. I just keep track of the numbers and make sure the supplies keep coming in so the work doesn't stop.
