Project Supervisor

My name is Sarmas Vali and I work as a project supervisor here in Bellary. My father is Shekanna, and we stay in the Hussain Nagar area. This isn't some big corporation with a tall glass building. It’s just me working on the local projects around this part of Karnataka. I spend my days walking around sites and looking at what the workers are doing. Supervision is mostly about making sure nobody is cutting corners. I’ve lived in Bellary a long time, so I know how things work here. The dust can get pretty bad, but you get used to it after a few years. I don’t use a lot of fancy technology. Usually, a notebook and a pen are enough to keep things straight. I meet with people, check the materials, and try to keep everyone on schedule. It’s a lot of talking and walking. If there is a problem at the site, they call me. I try to handle things fairly. People know where I live in Hussain Nagar if they need to find me after hours. It’s a simple life. I like being outside instead of stuck behind a desk all day. There is always something to fix or someone to talk to. I just want the work to be done right so we don't have to come back and do it again. It’s practical, everyday management of small and medium jobs. I usually have tea with the workers in the afternoon to see how they are feeling. It keeps the mood better.
