Prestige Ceramics

You can find Prestige Ceramics on Silver Jubilee Park Road, right on the main road at 13/5/101. This part of town is always packed with people and vehicles, so there’s never a dull moment. The shop is filled with stacks of tiles and bathroom fittings that take up almost every inch of floor space. We have to be really careful when we’re moving things around because ceramic breaks if you even look at it wrong. The light in the shop isn't great, so we often take samples out to the sidewalk to show people what they actually look like in the sun. It’s a lot of lifting and carrying boxes to the back of people’s cars. The dust from the road comes inside every time the door is open, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the display pieces. We’ve got a small kettle in the back for making coffee when things get a bit slower in the afternoon. It’s not a high-tech operation; we still write down a lot of the orders in a big ledger book. The neighbors on SJP Road are mostly other shops, so we all know each other and sometimes trade change or help with moving stuff. It’s a bit chaotic with the traffic outside, but it’s home for us. We just keep the doors open and see who comes in through the afternoon heat, hoping the delivery truck arrives on time.
