Press And Punch

Down on Magadi Road, right at 65/2 in Kamakshipalya, you’ll find us. Press And Punch is a small workshop where we do a lot of metal stamping and punching. It’s an old neighborhood and the street is always full of activity. Our shop is packed with tools and heavy presses that take up most of the room. It’s a bit cramped, but we’ve learned how to move around each other without getting in the way. We started this because we knew how to work the machines, and we just kept going. There isn't any fancy decor here, just calendars on the walls and boxes of parts ready to go out. We deal with all sorts of small metal components. Some days it’s just one long run of the same part over and over. Other days we have to set up for something different, which takes a bit more time. We get a lot of walk-in business from people in the area who need something specific made. We don't use much technology besides the machines themselves. It’s mostly about having a good eye and knowing how the metal is going to react under the press. It’s a gritty, noisy job, but we like the feeling of actually making something with our hands. We’ve stayed at this same address for years because it works for us and the locals know where we are. It is just a plain, hardworking shop.
