Pillaiah Nursery

We have been running Pillaiah Nursery over at Jayanagar Antop Hill 59/2 for many years. It started out quite small and just grew as we added more pots and different types of plants to the rows. The ground is almost always a bit muddy because of the daily watering, so it is better not to wear your best shoes when you stop by. We have a lot of different saplings and some larger trees kept in the back area. Most of the work here involves digging, potting, and making sure everything stays green under the sun. It is heavy work, especially when the weather gets really hot in the middle of the day. We don't have a website or a fancy catalog, so people just come to the gate to see what is in stock. My family helps out with the lifting and the watering schedule every morning. Sometimes we run out of certain flowers, but that is just how it goes with growing things. We try to keep the paths tidy, but with all the soil and falling leaves, it is a constant job. The neighbors know us well since we have been at this spot for such a long time. It is a quiet enough area, except for when the delivery trucks arrive with fresh bags of soil. We prefer being outside in the dirt rather than sitting in an office all day.
