Phoenix Academy Life Skills (P A L S)

We’re up on the first floor of Kedia Arcade, which is number 92 on Infantry Road. If you find the Canara Bank, we’re right next to it in room 106. Infantry Road is always humming with activity. We've been running the Phoenix Academy Life Skills, or P A L S as we call it, from this office for a while. It’s a simple space with a few rooms for classes and meetings. We focus on teaching life skills to whoever stops by. The arcade is an older building, so the stairs can be a bit steep. Inside, we try to keep things quiet, though the street noise always leaks in a bit. It’s a practical environment. We have some whiteboards and chairs set up. We aren't a big corporate school; it’s more of a local initiative. People come here to learn things that help them in their daily lives. We spend our time preparing materials and talking to students. Sometimes the lift in the building is out of order, which is a pain, but we manage. We just want to provide a place where people can improve themselves. It’s honest work, and we enjoy seeing people pick up new habits. We’re usually here during normal business hours, just doing our thing next to the bank. It feels good to see the progress people make over a few weeks of coming here.
