Pearl Plast

Our facility is located on the main road of the Peeniya Industrial Area, at C-134/ 2-B. Peeniya is such a huge place that it can be easy to get lost, but since we are right on the main road, it’s not too bad. We deal with plastics, so the machines are usually humming from early morning until late at night. The air has that warm, plastic smell which I’ve grown to like over the years. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside with all the raw materials stacked up against the walls. We have about ten people working here, mostly guys from the local neighborhood. We don't have a big corporate culture or anything like that. We just show up, do the shifts, and make sure the quality is okay. The break room is just a small table in the corner where we keep the kettle. It’s a very basic setup. We don't have a marketing budget or a fancy sign outside. Most people find us because they saw our gate while driving past. The traffic in Bangalore is legendary, and Peeniya is no exception, so we spend a lot of time worrying about whether the transport will arrive on time. It is a stressful job sometimes, but we have a good laugh together and that helps. We aren't trying to change the world; we are just making plastic parts and trying to run a decent business.
