About Opus Architects – Metals & Minerals in Bengaluru
This branch of our work is set up in Manjunatha Layout, specifically at number 4, over in the T.C. Palya area of K.R. Puram. We share the space, and it’s a more relaxed environment than a typical corporate office. Being in Bangalore, we deal with the usual noise and bustle, but this layout is a bit more tucked away. We handle architectural planning and site visits from here. There are only a few of us, so if the phone rings, whoever is closest picks it up. We don't have any fancy signs or a big lobby. Usually, there’s a pile of drawings on the main table and a couple of laptops running. We spend a lot of our time visiting local construction sites around K.R. Puram to make sure things are going according to the sketches. It’s dusty work sometimes, but that’s the nature of building things. We don't try to impress anyone with big speeches; we just show the plans and talk about what's possible with the budget. Lunch is usually something quick from a nearby stall. We've known the people in this neighborhood for a long time, and that helps when we need to get things done. It’s a simple operation, run by people who actually enjoy the grit of architecture. We keep our files organized, but the rest of the office looks like people are actually working in it. We have a lot of scrap paper lying around most days.
