Opus Architects

Our office is located at 103 on the 5th Cross of Singapura Main Road here in Bangalore. If you know the area, you know the traffic can be a bit much, but we like being in this part of the city. We are a small group of architects and designers. Our space is filled with rolls of paper, old blueprints, and some computers that have seen better days. We don't have a polished showroom. Instead, you'll see samples of bricks and tiles leaning against the walls and sketches pinned up everywhere. We spend our time drawing up plans and talking to contractors on the phone. It’s a lot of back and forth. We don't use a lot of big words or try to act like we’re in a high-rise downtown. We just focus on making sure the buildings we design actually work for the people living in them. Someone is usually out at a site visit, so the office might feel quiet one hour and then very loud the next when everyone comes back. We’ve been at this address for a while and the locals know us. We drink a lot of tea while we argue over where a window should go. It’s honest work, and we prefer it that way. We aren't looking to be the biggest firm in Karnataka, just the one that does the job right. The main road always has something going on, which keeps us on our toes.
