About Oomar Nisar Architects – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Bengaluru
Our place is located at 302/3 in Richmond Town. It’s an older part of the city, and the office reflects that a bit. We’ve got some high ceilings and windows that let in a good amount of light, which is very helpful when we’re looking at fine details on a map or a blueprint. We’re just a few people working here. Most days involve a lot of phone calls to suppliers and trying to track down where a delivery of cement or wood went. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles in the office. The furniture is mostly functional, and the walls are covered in pinned-up sketches from previous jobs we’ve finished. We like the pace of Richmond Town; it’s got a bit of character that you don’t find in the newer areas. People drop in without appointments sometimes, and we try to accommodate them, though it’s always better if they catch us when we aren't heading out to a site. We deal with the day-to-day grind of architecture—calculating square footage, arguing with the municipal office about codes, and making sure the electrical plan is actually safe. It’s not always exciting, but it’s what we know how to do. We’ve been in this building for a while now, and we’ve seen a lot of projects go from just a pencil line on paper to a finished building that people actually use. It keeps us coming back to the desk every morning.
