We are located on CT Street, which is usually quite a crowded place to be. Our work involves assaying and hallmarking, so it’s a lot of testing and checking items that come through our door. The space we have is mostly taken up by the equipment we need for the job. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find plush chairs or a reception area. We focus on the precision of the work because that’s what people come to us for. The street outside is always buzzing with people and carts, which makes it feel very alive, if a bit loud. We’ve been on CT Street for some time now and most of the other shop owners nearby know us. We start early because that’s when the work starts coming in. Our team is small and we’ve all worked together for years. We don’t have a marketing department or anything like that. We just do the testing, stamp the items, and move on to the next one. It’s honest work that requires a lot of concentration. Sometimes we have tea brought in from the stall at the corner while we wait for the machines to finish their cycles. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze in the office with all the tools, but we make it work. It’s just a regular part of the local business community here, doing what we know how to do every day.
