Nettur Technical Training Foundation

This Nettur Technical Training Foundation center is located in a more rural setting in Athanoor. Specifically, we are at 4/7A in the Arangapuram area of Pennagaram T.K. It’s a quiet part of the Dharmapuri district in Tamil Nadu. Mr. P. Balaraman oversees things here, and it feels much more like a community-based school than a big institution. We work with local youth who are looking to pick up technical skills so they don't have to move too far away for work. The surroundings are green and peaceful, which is a nice change from the big city branches. We have a modest setup with the necessary tools for technical training. Some days we have to deal with power fluctuations or rain hitting the roof so hard we can't hear each other speak. It’s a very grounded way to work. We talk to the parents and the students about why these skills are useful for their future. Most of the teaching is done by showing, not just reading from books. We keep our tools in good shape and try to make the most of what we have. It’s a humble place, but there’s a lot of heart in what happens here. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to give the kids in Dharmapuri a fair shot at a decent job. It’s simple, honest work that keeps us grounded to the land and the people around us.
