Neon Signs India is located at No-1655/31 on 3rd Cross in Prakash Nagar, just off Dr Rajkumar Road. It’s a workshop more than anything else, so you’ll usually find glass tubes and wiring lying around on the benches. The place has a specific smell of heat and metal that you get used to after a few days. We spend a lot of time bending glass and making sure the gas inside is just right so the lights work properly. It’s delicate work, and sometimes things break, which is frustrating but part of the job. The area around Prakash Nagar is always humming with activity, especially being so close to the main road. We have a few benches where we do the assembly, and the walls are mostly covered in old sketches and bits of neon that we keep for parts. It gets pretty bright in here when we’re testing things out. Most of the time, we’re just busy trying to get the orders ready for whenever the trucks come to pick them up. It’s a hands-on kind of place where your hands are rarely clean. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that; we just focus on the workbench and what’s in front of us. Some days are long, and the light from the signs can make the room feel a bit strange after a while. But we’ve been doing this at this location for a good bit now. It’s just our daily routine, making signs and keeping the shop running in this little corner of the city.
