Shahi Store

The store is located on Gongehri Road, right in the extension area near the Government College. Because we are so close to the college entrance, we see a lot of students coming and going all through the day. They usually pop in for small things or snacks between their various classes. The road right outside can get a bit dusty and busy with the local buses and motorbikes passing by. We have been here for a good while, just running the shop as a family. It is a simple general store where we keep a bit of everything on the wooden shelves. Sometimes it is hard to find exactly where we put things because the space is so packed with boxes. We don't have a computer system to track our sales; we just know what is in stock by looking at the rows. The heat can be a bit much in the late afternoons, so we keep the old fan running at full speed behind the counter. It is a basic life, opening up the shutters early in the morning and staying open until the last few customers head home. Gongehri Road isn't the fanciest street in town, but it is where we belong. We know most of the people who walk past our door every day. We don't have any big sales or clever marketing tricks. We just sell what people need and have a chat. It is just a normal store.
