Nagaraju Nursery

Nagaraju Nursery is located at 741/1 on Magadi Road. If you know Magadi Road, you know it can be a bit of a trek with all the traffic. But once you get here, it’s a lot greener than the rest of the street. We have rows of plants sitting out in the sun and under some shade nets. We grow all kinds of things, from small flowering plants to bigger trees for people’s yards. My hands are usually covered in dirt because there is always something that needs repotting or watering. We’ve been on this patch of land for quite a few years. It’s not a fancy garden center with a cafe or anything. It’s just a place where we grow and sell plants. The sun hits the front of the lot pretty hard in the afternoon. We spend a lot of time dragging hoses around to make sure nothing wilts. People stop their cars on the side of the road to pick up a few pots for their balconies. We don't have any big sales pitches. If a plant looks healthy and you like it, you take it home. Sometimes the wind blows the dust from the road onto the leaves, so we have to wash them off. It’s a lot of manual work, but we like being outside. We know which plants do well in this climate and which ones are tricky. That’s what we do here at the nursery. We just keep planting and hope for good weather to keep the leaves green.
