Multi Lubricants

The shop is over at 4190 Subramanya Nagar, right on the corner of 25th Main and 26th Cross. It is mostly just barrels and cans of oil stacked everywhere. If you walk in, the first thing you notice is the smell of engine oil and gear grease. It is a heavy smell that stays on your clothes long after you go home. I have been selling lubricants here for quite some time now. We get a lot of auto-rickshaw drivers and people with old cars who need something to keep their engines from making noise. I spend my day pouring oil into smaller containers or checking the labels on the new shipments. The floor is a bit stained because spills happen no matter how careful you are. I have a small stool behind the counter where I sit when there are no customers, but mostly I am on my feet moving heavy jugs around. Subramanya Nagar is a busy area, so there is always a lot of honking outside. I don't have a fancy computer system; I just use a bill book and a pen to track what goes out. People ask for advice on which oil is better for their high-mileage bikes, and I tell them what I have seen work for others over the years. It is a simple trade. I close up when it gets dark and the streetlights come on. It is just a regular shop doing a regular job for local folks.
