We are over at 187, Sharada Colony, working out of Mr. Madhukar B. Torgal’s place in Basaveshwaranagar. M/S.Kanmadi & Associates, Engineers & Architects, Bangalore is basically a small group of us trying to make sense of plans and drawings every day. Bangalore-79 is our neighborhood, and it’s a quiet enough spot for the kind of thinking we have to do. We aren’t some giant firm with a glass building. We are just engineers and architects who prefer a more local, down-to-earth setting. The office has piles of blueprints and a lot of coffee cups lying around. It feels more like a workshop than a corporate headquarters. We’ve been in Basaveshwaranagar for a good while, so we know the neighbors and the local shops. When people come to see us, they usually just find us hunched over our desks. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just draw things and figure out how they should be built. It’s a lot of math and a lot of looking at site details. We like it this way because it’s real and practical. Sharada Colony is a nice part of Bangalore to be based in. There is no need for anything fancy when the work speaks for itself. We just keep our heads down and stay busy with the next project on the desk.
