M/S.Dalmia Cement (B) Limited

We’re located out in Chinna Komerla, which is part of the Kadapa district. It’s a bit out of the way compared to the big cities, but that’s where the work is for a cement company like Dalmia. The facility here is quite large, and there’s always dust and movement because of the nature of the business. We have a lot of people from the local villages working with us, so it feels like a community effort most of the time. The office part of the building is where we keep track of the shipments and make sure the production numbers are looking okay. It isn't a place for suits and ties; it's more about boots and hard hats. We spend our days dealing with the logistics of moving heavy bags and making sure the machinery is running like it should. The landscape around Kadapa is pretty rugged, and the sun can be quite hot during the middle of the day. We have a routine that involves early starts and making sure everything is shut down properly in the evening. There isn’t much around the site besides the industrial equipment and the roads leading out to the main highway. We just focus on getting the cement out to where it needs to go. It’s a simple, hardworking environment where everyone knows their job and just gets on with it without making a fuss. We've been here long enough that the noise of the plant is just background music.
