Dharwad is a quiet place compared to Hubli, and we like it that way. Our unit is in the M.M. Nadaf Jubai Chawl area on Shivaji Road. It’s near the Kerikelagin Oni and very close to the well-known Gandhi Chowk. This part of town is quite traditional. We work out of a small space that used to be part of a larger residential chawl. It is a bit cramped inside with all the machinery and metal scrap laying around, but we know our way around the mess. Metfab is a local name here. We don't have a big HR team or a marketing person. Most of us just wear our work clothes and get our hands dirty every day. The floor is concrete and often has oil spills that we try to clean up. We get a lot of local people coming by asking for small repairs or looking for specific parts. There’s a small shop nearby that makes great vada pav, so that’s usually our lunch. The weather is mostly nice, but it can get quite dusty when the wind blows through the open doors. We don’t use big corporate slogans. We just talk in plain Kannada or English about what needs to be welded or fixed. It’s a basic setup where the main goal is just to finish the day's work and go home. People here are friendly and we help each other out.
