Jalahalli West is a bit quieter than the center of Bangalore. Our office is at No. 902, Ashwathy, on the 6th Cross in Ayyappa Nagar. Being near the Ayyappa Temple means there’s a lot of traffic on festival days, and sometimes you can hear the bells or the chanting in the distance. The building itself is quite simple. We have a few rooms set up for technical work and meetings. It isn’t a massive corporate floor with shiny glass walls and cubicles. We have some older wooden furniture and the windows let in a fair bit of dust from the road outside. Most mornings start with someone opening up the heavy shutters and checking the mail piled up at the door. We spend a lot of time sitting at our desks, focused on the computers. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so we keep the ceiling fans going at full speed all day long. People in this neighborhood know us as the team that’s always tucked away in the Ashwathy building. We don’t have a big reception desk or a fancy lobby to greet people. If you walk in, you’re basically in the middle of our workspace immediately. We’ve got some wires running along the walls and a few charts pinned up with tape. It’s just a regular place where we come to get things done. Sometimes the neighbors stop by to chat or the delivery guys get lost. We just keep our heads down and work on our projects.
