We've been at Plot No 84 for a while now. Metalex Steel Strips is just where we come to work every morning near the Majura Gate in Bommasandra. It gets pretty loud here with the machines running, but that's just how it is when you’re dealing with steel all day. Some of us have been here since the start and we know the layout of the place by heart. Dealing with steel strips means there is always moving metal and dust around. We just focus on getting the strips ready. It’s a busy area and the gate is a good landmark for people trying to find us. Usually, someone is always at the entrance to direct the trucks. It isn't a fancy office with big glass windows. It's more of a practical workspace where we spend our time managing the stock and making sure things are cut right. We eat our lunch together and talk about the weekend. Sometimes the weather makes the workshop hot, especially in the afternoons. But we keep going. The address is easy to remember if you know the Bommasandra area. We aren't doing anything complicated or flashy, just the work that needs doing with the steel. Most days are the same, filled with the sound of the equipment and the smell of the shop floor. That’s just life at Metalex. It’s what we do.
