Meghatron

Meghatron is based out of Peenya at B38. We’ve been in this unit for a good few years now, working on all sorts of electronic and mechanical bits. It’s a small space, and it can get pretty cramped when we have a few big projects going on at once. There are wires everywhere, and you have to watch where you step sometimes. We aren't a high-tech lab with white coats; we’re just a bunch of people who like taking things apart and putting them back together so they actually work. Peenya is a great place to be because if we need a specific screw or a piece of metal cut, there's usually someone three doors down who can do it. Our days are mostly spent at workbenches under bright lamps, squinting at small parts. We don't have a fancy lobby or a coffee machine that does anything but plain black coffee. People come to us when they have a technical problem that needs a practical solution. Sometimes we stay late when a job is being stubborn, and other times we finish early and just sit around talking. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, but we take the work seriously enough. We don't do any big promotions or anything like that. Word usually gets around if you do a decent job, and that’s how we’ve kept going all this time at B38.
