Mayur Decor

Mayur Decor is over on Netaji Marg, specifically at 70/80 near the Kalgi Cross Road in Kengeri. It’s a bit of a drive from the city center, which is nice because it’s a little slower paced here. We’ve got a mix of things in the shop, from hardware to some decorative items for the kitchen and hall. The shelves are pretty high, so we’re always climbing ladders to find what someone asked for. My brother and I run the place together. We disagree on where things should go, so the layout changes every month. It keeps us busy. We get a lot of contractors coming in early for supplies, so we open up pretty early. The tea guy comes by at eleven, and that’s the best part of the morning. We don't have a marketing department or a fancy brand. We just have a sign over the door and some business cards we printed ourselves. The street can get muddy when it rains, and people track it into the shop, but we don't mind. We just sweep it out at night. We’ve seen Kengeri change from a quiet outskirts area to a busy hub. It’s good for business, but we miss the old quiet days sometimes. We just keep doing what we do, day in and day out. It’s a good enough life for us here on this road. We just try to stay honest and work hard.
