Maya Architects

Our office is tucked away in Vijaya Nagar at number 18. It is a busy part of town, so there is always some kind of noise coming in from the street, but you get used to it after a while. We have been here for a bit now, and the space has slowly filled up with old models, rolls of tracing paper, and way too many coffee mugs. It’s a working office, not a showroom, so expect to see some dust and a lot of open files. We spend a lot of our time just trying to solve puzzles, like how to fit everything a client wants into a tiny plot of land without it looking like a mess. It involves a lot of sketching and then deleting those sketches to start over. Sometimes we go out to the sites to see if the builders are actually following the drawings, which is always an adventure. It’s not a glamorous job, mostly just checking measurements and making sure the plumbing goes where it’s meant to. We like being in Vijaya Nagar because it feels central and we know the neighborhood well. Usually, if you stop by, someone will be staring intensely at a computer screen or arguing with a supplier on the phone. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. You just walk in and we're right there, usually busy with the next set of plans or trying to find a lost pen.
