Sri Ganesh Wood Carving Works

We are over here at the Thimmarayappa Building, number 64. It’s right next to the Krishna Temple in Doddabommasandra. If you know Vidyaranyapura, you know the area can get a bit busy during festival times because of the temple. Most days it is just the sound of the chisels and the smell of sawdust in the shop. We spend a lot of time working on different wood pieces. It gets dusty, but that’s just how it is when you’re carving. The workshop isn't anything fancy to look at. Just a solid place where we get the work done. People usually find us by looking for the temple first and then seeing our sign right next door. We’ve been in this spot for a while now. The light comes in pretty good in the mornings which helps when you are trying to see the fine details on a piece of timber. Sometimes the traffic outside on the main road gets a bit loud, but once you step inside and see the wood piled up, things feel a bit more quiet. We don't really do much fancy advertising or anything like that. Most folks just walk in or hear about us from someone else in the neighborhood. It’s a simple setup with our tools and the benches we've used for years. We just keep at it every day, making sure the carvings look right before they go out the door.
