We are located way up on the 11th floor of Mittal Towers, in the B wing, right on M.G. Road. Being in the heart of the city means there is always a lot of traffic and noise outside, but once you get up to unit 1101, it is a bit quieter. Martins Electronic Devices And Instruments is what we call ourselves. We deal with all sorts of precise tools and electronic gear. It is a bit of a trek up here if the elevators are busy, but the view of the city is alright. Inside, it is mostly just desks, soldering stations, and a lot of technical manuals. We spend most of our time calibrating things or talking to people about their equipment needs. It is not a high-pressure sales environment. We are more interested in the technical side of how the instruments work. We have a small team, and we have worked together for a long time. Sometimes a piece of gear comes in that is really old and we have to spend hours finding the right parts for it. That is just part of the job. We do not have any fancy marketing brochures. Most people find us because they need something specific fixed or supplied. We just try to be helpful and get the instruments back to their owners in good working order. It is steady, focused work that keeps us out of the sun and busy with our hands.
