The shop is tucked away behind Siddaganga School here in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar. If you know Chandra Layout, you know how busy it gets when the school lets out. We deal with all kinds of auto care stuff, like polishes and cleaners for cars and bikes. The shelves are packed with bottles and sponges. Most mornings start with moving a few boxes around to make space. It’s a narrow spot, but we make it work. Sometimes the kids from the school make a lot of noise outside, but we’re used to it. We spend our time checking the inventory and talking to people who want their vehicles to look a bit better. It’s not a big corporate operation. It is just a few of us making sure we have what folks need for their washing or detailing. The floor usually has some scuff marks from moving crates. We don’t have a big sign, just the address 1145. People usually find us by asking around or spotting the school first. We try to keep the dust off the bottles, but in this part of town, it’s a losing battle. It’s a straightforward business. We show up, count the stock, and help whoever walks in the door. There’s always a car parked out front getting something looked at. We just do our thing and go home when the work is finished. It’s a bit cramped inside, but it’s ours.
