Manian & Rao

You can find us over at 361 Jayanagar on the 7th Cross. We’re on the first floor, which is a bit of a climb if you're carrying a lot of files, but it's not too bad. Being near Madhavan Park is one good thing because it's green and some of us go there for a quick walk during the lunch break when the office gets too stuffy. Manian & Rao has been operating from this 1st Block spot for a good while. The office is full of paper. There are stacks on almost every flat surface, and we’re always looking for a stapler that someone borrowed and didn't put back. We aren't a big corporation with glass walls. It's more of a place where the floorboards might creak a little and the windows need a good cleaning. We spend our hours mostly doing calculations and checking over documents. It can be quiet in here, except for the sound of someone typing or the printer humming in the corner. Sometimes the traffic outside gets loud, but mostly it's just the usual neighborhood sounds. We have a small kettle for making coffee, and the milk usually runs out by Wednesday. It’s a steady kind of life. We know the neighbors and the local shops. We just focus on getting the books or the legal work right and making sure nothing gets filed in the wrong drawer.
