M S Ramaiah Developers & Builders Pvt Ltd is based in the Unity Building, which is right across from the LIC building on Jaya Chamarajendra Road. We are on the first floor in Sector 22 C. The location is very central, which is great, but the noise from J C Road can be quite something during the day. The office has a very old-school feel to it. We have big heavy tables and cabinets that have been here for decades. It isn't a modern, open-plan space with glass walls. It feels like a place where people have been working hard for a long time. We don't have a lot of corporate rules or complicated hierarchies. If someone has a question, they just shout across the room. We deal with building and development, so there are always engineers and contractors coming in with mud on their boots. We don't mind that at all. It’s a practical office for a practical business. We drink tea twice a day, usually brought in from the stall downstairs. The view out the window is just the busy street and the LIC building, which hasn't changed much over the years. We’ve seen the city grow and change from this very spot. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just build things and try to do a decent job of it. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living.
