Our shop is at No.448 on the 1st Main Road in Yeshwanthpur. It is a very busy part of the city, and there is always something going on outside our door. We deal with watches and mobile phones, so our workbench is usually covered with very tiny parts. You will often see us hunched over a magnifying glass, trying to get a small screw back into a watch movement or fixing a loose connection in a phone. People come in all day with cracked screens or watches that have stopped ticking. Most of them are in a hurry because they are on their way to the station or work. The shop is small, and every inch of the walls is covered with clock faces or mobile accessories. We have a lot of different batteries stored in little plastic drawers. It is a job that requires a lot of patience and steady hands. Yeshwanthpur is loud, with buses and honking cars, but inside the shop, we try to keep things focused. Sometimes we have to tell people their old watches can't be fixed, which is never fun. We have a small television in the corner that we keep on for the news. The floor is just plain cement, and the furniture is old, but it works for what we need. We stay open until late in the evening to catch the crowd heading home.
