We've been here on Varthur Main Road for a while now. It's mostly just us and the plants out here at 70/6 Gunjur. Some days are busier than others depending on the weather. If it rains, we’re mostly just moving pots around or checking the soil. People stop by looking for something specific for their yard, or maybe just a bit of green for their porch. We keep a lot of different things growing. It takes a lot of water and time to keep everything healthy, and some plants are more stubborn than others. My hands are usually dirty by noon. We don't have a big fancy office or anything. It’s just the nursery. We spend most of the day outside. Sometimes the sun gets pretty hot, so we try to get the heavy lifting done early in the morning before it really kicks in. People around Gunjur know where to find us. It’s not a complicated setup. We just grow what we can and try to keep things alive. If you walk past the gate, you'll see rows of saplings and bigger trees too. There is always something to prune or repot. It is a lot of work but it keeps us busy. We like being out here. The road gets noisy with traffic but once you get inside the rows of plants, it feels a bit quieter. We have some benches where we sit and eat our lunch when things are quiet. It is a good way to stay connected to the land. Most of our tools are old but they still work just fine.
