Konica Mirror Co. Pvt. Ltd. is tucked away in the Peenya Industrial Estate. We are at A-143 on the 3rd Cross, in the 1st Stage area. It’s a big industrial zone, so there are trucks everywhere and a lot of dust. Our building isn't anything to look at from the outside, just a grey structure like the rest of them. Inside, though, we’re busy making mirrors. It’s a hot job sometimes, especially in the summer months when the ventilation isn't great. We’ve got a small crew of guys who have been here for years. We know the machines and we know how to handle glass without breaking too much of it. Every now and then, a truck gets stuck on the narrow road outside, and we all have to go out and help move things. It’s part of the day. We don't have a website that looks like a movie, and we don't have a fancy lounge for visitors. If you come by, you’ll probably get a plastic chair and a cup of tea while we talk. We focus on getting the orders out on time. The floor is always covered in small bits of glass and packing straw. We sweep up every evening, but it’s back the next morning. That’s just life in a mirror factory. We’re glad to be in Peenya because everything we need is close by. It’s a hardworking place and we fit right in with the other shops around us.
