It is a bit of a climb up the stairs, but it is a good, solid building. Vyalikaval is one of those older parts of the city where things feel a bit more settled and traditional. Our office is not anything too modern or stylish. It is filled with rows of shelves, a lot of paper files, and some old wooden furniture that has been around for many years. We spend most of our time here going through documents and dealing with the usual paperwork that comes with our line of work. The windows look out over the street, so we see the daily life of the neighborhood passing by below us. It is relatively quiet compared to the main roads, which helps when we need to concentrate on the details. We do not have a receptionist or a fancy waiting lounge for guests. Usually, someone will just look up from their desk when you walk through the door. The building name, Lakshminarasimha Kutira, is written clearly enough on the front, so most people find us without much trouble. We have been in this space for a long time and have gotten used to the creaks in the floor and the way the light hits the office in the late afternoon. It is just a regular place where we do our work every day.
