Our place is located at 54, 2nd Main Road in Electronic City. People usually think of IT when they hear Electronic City, but we are over here doing hydraulic work. It’s a different vibe from the big glass buildings nearby. We spend our time fixing pumps and working on valves. The traffic on the way in can be a real headache some mornings, but once we’re inside the workshop, it’s mostly just the sound of tools and the smell of fluid. We have a few benches set up for assembly and testing. The guys usually have tea around eleven and talk about whatever is going on in the neighborhood. We aren't a massive operation, just a steady one. We keep things simple. If a machine breaks down, we look at it and see how to get it running again. Some days the floor gets pretty messy with oil spills, but we clean it up before heading home. We’ve seen the area change a lot over the years, with new roads and buildings going up everywhere. But we’re still here at the same address doing what we’ve always done. It’s hard work, especially when the weather is humid, but it's what pays the bills. We don't have a big front office or anything like that. You just walk in and someone will be there to help you out. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living.
