Kavana Industries

Kavana Industries is tucked away in Kamakshi Palya on the 2nd cross in Rushabhavathinagar. The address is 726/3 and the street is so narrow that two cars can barely pass each other. It is a busy little area with lots of small workshops like ours. We make small metal parts and the whole place smells like cutting oil and iron. It is a small unit and we have three main machines that take up most of the floor space. We have to walk sideways sometimes just to get around. The walls are covered in old calendars and some tools hanging on nails. We do not have a receptionist or anyone to answer the phones so we just pick it up when we can hear it ringing. Our hands are usually dirty from the grease but that is just part of the job. We have a small radio that plays local songs all day and it helps the time go by faster. In the afternoon we take a short break to have some coffee from the shop at the corner. We know the other business owners on the street and we often borrow tools from each other. It is a very local way of doing things and we do not have any big corporate plans. We just want to make good parts and finish our orders on time so we can go home.
